BABY

First off I  hope everyone had a great Valentine's day.  Hope everyone got lots of hearts and flowers and of course CHOCOLATE.  My DH  know that I'm a huge Lousiville Cardinal basketball fan.  I wanted to show you what he got me.   I LOVE THEM  and of couse I LOVE MY DH

Lover on Lasting Memories LO blog this week the challenge is "NUMBERS". http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com You are to make a LO and use numbers.  My youngest is going to have baby and My granddaughter is also.   I decided to do this LO of my grandson.  My daughter is due May 10th.  Great-Grandson is due July 4th.  Here is what I decided to do with the challenge.

The pattern paper that I used is from The Recollections paper pad called BLACK AND WHITE.  this stack is 8.5 x 11.  I used checkered paper for my background.  I matted the ultra sounds pictures on black cardstock.  The teddy bear is from the TEDDY BEAR PARADE cricut cart.  I cut the bear and all the pieces out @ 3".  The 21 WEEKS is cut from the ALPHABET preloaded cart on my E2 @ 2".  ITS a BOY was cut from  NEW ARRIVAL (retired) cricut cart @ 1.25"  I like the way it came out with just using blue for the title and the clothes.  This is the first time that I have actually done anything black and white.

My second post for today if also for another challenge.  Over on Laurie's blog HIMCR .  this week's challenge is Technique week.  This week we are to try  EMBOSSING.   My daughter had seen this card in my cardmaking magazine and wanted to know if I would make this for her to give to her niece (my grandaughter) who is having a baby in July.  Here is my card.  I will tell you what all I used after i post it.

For the front of the card I used  ANNA GRIFFIN  embossing folder MATELASSE.  I took my colored pencils and used pastel colors and colored the rectangles. After I did this I adhere it to the front of an A2 card base with different colored cardstock cut in rectangles also.

The Umbrella was cut from the  APRIL SHOWERS cricut seasonal cart.  I sized it in the CCR. I embossed this also with the cricut cuttlebug embossing folder called FABRIC SWATCHES SET.

I used the cricut cart  NEW ARRIVAL for the scalloped square.  I used the blackout feature key for the cut and then came back and cut out the baby scalloped squares to get the lettering BABY.  I cut the duck from the same cart..
I used BAKER'S TWINE  for the strings to hang my squares from.  I used some brads from my stash and also some buttons.
The inside of the card is the rattle from NEW ARRIVAL cart also.  My picture doesn't do the card justice, but I really do love the way it came out.

Thanks for looking and have a great week everyone.
