Dear Santa

Here is another Dbl page  LO  that I made of my Great-Great-niece Lana.  Her mom helped her to write to Santa.  I love the way she looks like she is really concentrating on what she is doing.  I used my Cricut Explore for the Santa Font which came from Teresa Collins Dec 25th cart.  Lana is from Lyrical Letters. I forgot what size I used for the letters.  The Dear Santa is from Winter Frolic cart.

The paper is from a Stack (can't remember the name right now)  that I thought was perfect for the page.
I'm entering this in the HIMCR  www.hidinginmycraftroom.com    Freestyle challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the weekend.

"CRUISIN"

"Cruisin"  Now that could mean just about anything.  Riding around in a 56" Chevy convertible with the top down. Now most of us will know what that is like, but there is some that won't. They will have to ask there parents. or grand parents.  Also could mean Sunday  drives.

But in this case this is what My title means.

I used my Explore to print and cut the picture of my great-great niece Lana Fay.  I took the picture and searched for a rectangle and found this one that looks like a banner.  I forgot to write down what cart it was from and now I can't find it in CDS.  Cruisin is from the cricut cart "Boys will be boys."
The car is from "B is for Boy"  and I didn't cut the top part .  I put google eyes on the front like in the picture.

I will be entering this in the BBTB    The challenge this week if Cricut Letters or Phrases.

thanks for taking a walk thru my blog and come back soon

Good Morning

Beautiful Sunday morning here in Western Ky.  A little breezy but that's okay the sun is shining and its 50 degrees.  Yesterday I spent my day cleaning and washing and CRAFTING.

I watched a video by  spyrorocks346 Gloria.   She has some amazing videos on u-tube.  She is doing a Valentine series right now so if you want to go to her u-tube channel you can see what I mean. This card is called a sunburst card.  I had been seeing them and decided that I wanted to make one.  This will be a Birthday card but you can use this for any thing.

This is an A2 card. My pattern paper is from MME's  6x6 paper pack from M's.  This is dbl sided so I used both sides and also white card stock.  I used my Textile cuttlebug folder to emboss the white. The ribbon strip is from American Crafts that I had gotten at M's or Joann's (can't remember which one.)  I've used this tape a few times and up until yesterday I didn't realize that is has adhesive on the back. That's what you called a DUH moment. The stamp is from the use to be $ bin from M's.
I really like this style card and I think it will make a great Kids birthday card.  I have two birthdays coming up and I am going to make them.   I will post after I figure out what papers I want to use.
You can use any piece of scrap cardstock to make the base for your strips. I used black then matted it on grey which I thought worked well with the pattern paper.
The strips are 1 1/2" x 5".  I took the strips and cut them diagnoly in my trimmer. In the video that Gloria does on you channel she puts it together then cuts off the access  and makes it even with the card front.

Thanks for looking and have a great Sunday.

STORAGE

I have two posts tonight that I want to share.  The first one is my embossing file folders that Okieladybug Shirley had made and just this week she had reposted what she had done and since she had done  a SVG file for these I downloaded the file and made them.  So Shirley I want to thank you for the file. I have been getting Anna Griffin embossing folders for the past 1 1/2 years and I just love her folders.  I have a lot and really didn't remember all that I had gotten so I kept using the same ones all the time. When Okie (Shirley) posted her embossing storage I knew that this was what I was looking for. Below is what I did and what they look like in order.

Now I still have to write down what all I have, but at least now I know where they are and what they are. I'm probably NO I know that I'm going to have to go to something bigger because Anna Griffin next Wednesday on HSN will be introducing more embossing folders.

Now for my second post.  I've been doing some Christmas LO's.  The one below is of my Niece Aimee and her two daughter's Reagan and Madison (Maddie) is what we call her.  The day that they had scheduled the pictures and couldn't change the day, her Husband who is in the Reserves was on drill, so he wasn't able to be in the pictures.

The bells are from Teresa Collins Christmas O.  I cut out just 2 layers on my Explore.  The top layer is glitter paper from DCWV called  Glitzy paper stack. I took the negative part of the bell and used it for another embellishment on the LO.   The base page is from Recollections called Christmas Noel.
I popped up the bells for demention  I also popped up the Merry Christmas in the middle which was a part of the Christmas card and I took it apart to use it for my sentiment.  I usually don't matt my photos with black cardstock unless its Halloween, but I think the pictures look good matted with the black and the base page.  My photo doesn't do justice but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
Thanks for  looking and have a great night.

CAPTURED MOMENTS

Good Morning!!!!! Here in my neck of the woods, the temp has finally gone above freezing and not nearly as windy like it has been. Its January so I guess winter finally decided to show up. In some places it showed up with a powerful rage. Yesterday I cleaned and did washing and watched u-tube videos on learning my Explore.  I have a lot to learn but I'm still liking it and I'm so glad that I decided to purchase it on the last launch from HSN. I still have my E2 and I haven't used it since Thanksgiving but I won't part with it because you knows could lose internet and be in the middle of a project and not able to use my Explore so I will be keeping it.   I see different people saying that they are going to sell their E2 but I wouldn't. So it sets by itself and covered until I think I need to use it.

Enough rambling for now. Over on the Lasting Memories http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com the challenge this week is Captured Moments. If you don't know what there challenges are all about hop over there and take a look. You are only allowed to do scrap booking LO's which I like because when I first started out scrapping it was LO's  and this challenge was and is still one of my favorite blogs for a challenge. Here is what I made.

This was taken Christmas Eve night.  Colton  and Adrian were playing basketball together.  Colton is on the left, that is my youngest grandchild who will be 2 May1st and Adrian  my Oldest great-grandson who will be 2 June 27th.  They had fun playing and I thought this would be perfect for the challenge.
Thanks for looking and have a great Sunday. Have a great week everyone.

Brithday card.

Evening fellow bloggers.  I was watching u-tube videos when I came across this one for the shirt and tie one.  I forgot to write the name down, so I will look and add it when I find it.  I went to u-tube and found the video  its by Keenan Kreations.   She has a video on how to make this card.  I made two different ones. The card is an A-2 card.  The tie was easy to fold and make.  The Happy birthday is a Stampin Up stamp that I thought went perfect with the card.

Thanks for looking and have a great Sunday.

Happy Birthday

I'm really liking my Explore now that I've finally figured out how to use it.  I've watched TONS of video on how to do things till I should know them by heart. (NOT).  I'm getting better everyday.
Today I made a Birthday card and I still have 3 to go.  2 are for a 8 year old and my great-grandson will be 1 on Jan 24th, so his card will actually be for his mom and Dad to put away until he gets bigger and understands what they are.

Any way enough rambling and I will post my card and then tell you what I did.

I have the subscription for the cricut library so I'm able to use different cuts from cartridges that I don't have. The balloons are from the BEST FRIENDS cart and this is a print then cut. I really like this feature on the Explore. Then it cuts it out and wa-la you have your cut already to go on your card.
I used bakers twine for the strings on the balloon for the inside of my card.
The Happy Birthday font is from Nate's ABC's  and I use the writing feature for this and then cut it out.  I used my colored pencils to color the letters to make it stand out more.  I popped up the balloons for more  damention.  Thinks for looking and have a great day.

Card Day

Today was cold and I thought I'm no going out so I decided to browse pinterest for masculine birthday cards.  I need 3 cards.  2 adults and in child.  The child is easy, its the adults that I have a problem with. While looking thru the different cards I found anniversary and a birthday card that I really liked.  Did I say that I needed to anniversary cards?  Yes  I needed 2 of those also. So needed to say I decided that I wanted to do the anniversaries now and also the one birthday card.  I will post them and then tell you How and what I did to make them.  I wish I could remember who made them first so I could give them credit, but of course I didn't write the names down.  But Ladies whom ever you were Thank You.  I enjoyed making them.

Here is the first one.

First off for this card its not a typical A2 size or even a 5x7.  The squares are 1.25x1.25 and I cut 9 of them. I used 9 different cuddlebug embossing  folders.  Then I went back into design space and looked for an oval for my sentiment. I did it different because I wanted to be able to open it up and say Dan & Aimee.  The picture below will show it opened.  I also in CDP added the text and wrote the sentiment with pen from American Crafts called Slick Writer.  These work perfectly in my Explore.  The Heart was also sized in CDS and I used a heart embossing folder and the shadow and popped it up for demention.

When I took the picture I hadn't put the names in yet. but it will say Dan & Aimee. I also used a MS punch called Lace Doily.  I thought it would look good.   The ribbon I had from my stash.

This is the inside of the card which now is not blank. I used the MS punch again and the ribbon.

Here is the name of the pen that I used in my explore to write the sentiment.  This was the first time that I ever tried this and I loved it. Below are more pictures of the pen.

Next is the next anniversary card that I made.  Idea from pinterest also.  First I googled to find out what colors are for being married for 40 years. The color is Ruby Red.   I used red for my card base and for the 40 years. I used an Anna Griffin embossing folder called Francesca Lace. I have quite a few Anna Griffin embossing folders and they are really pretty. I hope to use more of my folders this year, or that is my goal anyway.

The sentiment is from Anna Griffin from the Garden Window card Kit and so is the saying for the inside of the card.

The fabric flower that I used was from some embelishments that I had gotten at Tuesday Morning.

My next card is a birthday card that I made for my SIL and I found this on pinterest also.

So as you can see I still have to look thru pinterest for my masculine birthday cards, but at least these three are done and finished and I can mail them out tomorrow.  Thanks for looking and have a great week and get some crafting relaxing time whenever possible.

My Valentines

I decided that I wanted to make something in CDS and my explore.  I went searching for different things I wanted to use on my page. I typed in square and of course a lot came up.  I liked the grid and decided to use that one.  I cut it out three times to make it pop up.  Then I added the pictures.

Bottom picture is my youngest grandson Colton.
Top is my youngest great-grandson Kylar
Left is my oldest great-grandson.
Right is Dalton my grandson
&
Klayton my grandson

These are just the youngest ones.  I have a 14 and 18 year old grandsons
and 2 Granddaughters. ages 22 and 20

The background paper was from my stash.  I typed in heart and a lot came up, and I decided to go with a simple one.  I sized it in CDS and also the shadow.

I am entering this is the Lasting Memories http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com  new monthly  challenge.  The challenge for this week is Simple Pleasures. And of course my youngest grandkids and great-grand kids are my Simple Pleasures.
