Snowmen

Hi to all my crafty friends.  Hope you all had a great weekend and good Monday.  Our weather was "Beautiful" here in Western Kentucky. But the bottom is going to fall out tomorrow with cold air and windy conditions again.  Can everyone HOLLER  SPRING!!!!!!!!  Lol

One of the challenges that I will be entering in this week is the challenge over on the LASTING MEMORIES Blog is  "SNOWMEN" http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com.  If you haven't been able to finish some LO's that you have been meaning to make this is a very good challenge to enter.  They have some amazing DT members that have some excellent projects that they do..
Also my other favorite blog for challenges is the FCCB http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com. The challenge this week is also SNOWMEN so I will be entering this in the challenge also.  They also have an amazing DT members that do an AWESOME job each week.   Take a look at what they have on the blog and the different challenges that they have each Monday.

My LO is a snowman that my oldest daughter Krystal had made with I first snowfall that you could actually make a snowman from.  She made this for her grandson and my great-grandson.  We have a little paper that is printed up for free and they mentioned her in the paper. I thought it was perfect for this challenge. I will let you know at the end on what all I used.

The background paper is from DCWV THE PHOTOREAL SEASONS  stack from 2011.  I love this stack also.  I guess I should say that I love everything DCWV.  Most of my paper is from DCWV.  So many different stacks to choose from.  My snowmen are from the WINTER FROLIC cart.  The cardinal in the tree is from the ULTIMATE CREATIVE SAMPLER cart. This cart has a little bit of everything on it.  ALL SPRUCED UP  is also from WINTER FROLIC.

This is what Krystal had written on the cape to Adrian.  I love they way she made earrings for the big snowman.

Thanks all for looking and hope you will all take a look at Lasting Memories blog challenge for this week and give it a try.

Happy 5

Good Friday morning to all my fellow crafters.  I sure hope everyone had a great week.  Here in my neck of the woods in Western Ky we are back in the COLD.   Good day to stay in and craft.  I have a few projects in the works that I keep putting off because I want to do more challenges. I was able to do three this week which I was very happy to be able to do.  You can see my projects father down in my blog.  I really do appreciate all the comments that every one leaves me.  Thank you.

One of my other favorite blogs to do challenges is the BBT2 blog where every week they have a new challenge.  http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com.  This week's challenge is "BIRTHDAY CARD WITH A NUMBER".  My grandson who will have a birthday January 27th will be turning 5.  I made this card for him Some of us here in Kentucky will remember that day has the ICE STORM of 2009.  It basically crippled western KY.  But that didn't stop my grandson from being born at home.
Here is the card that I made.  I will post what I used underneath the picture.

I used the BIRTHDAY BASH cricut card for all the cuts. I used scraps for the shark and the 5 and Happy Birthday.

I also put the shark on an action wobble and used tiny google eyes. I think my grandson will like this card.   I also have entered this in the action wobble challenge for this week.  Please go and check out the site http://www.action-wobble.com and see how the action wobbles work.  They are so much fun to use and will make your projects wiggle.

My niece's husband's birthday is also January 27th and I wanted to make him a card also.  I saw this balloon card that Michelle (sorry can't remember what her blog name is) had made and I thought this would make a great card for  him.  I'm sorry that it doesn't look very good in the picture.  I'm sending him the one on the left. The Happy Birthday is from the Artiste cart. I used some of my Baker's twine that I have and some buttons in my stash. I embossed the front which you can see with an Anna Griffin embossing folder called Matelassé.

The card on the left was an extra one that I had did for my stash.  I used the same embossing folder on the front and used a button from my stash and baker's twine.

Here is a picture of the folder and a better picture of the card.

In this picture you can see the different cardstock that I used.   I think that this makes a perfect masculine card.   Thanks Michelle for the inspiration.
Hope everyone one has a great weekend and is able to get lots of crafting done.

CHALLENGES

Good morning to all my fellow crafters.  Hope your Wednesday has started out good.  I  have two post for today. My title is probably a little bit deceiving but what it means is that my posts are about different challenges that I'm entering my projects in.
One of my favorite challenges is the Lasting Memories Scrapbook LO challenge http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com. Each week you are to make a page LO either single or double that is the one rule for the challenge.  If you haven't been to there blog you need to hop on over there and see what all the challenges are about.  This challenge is one way of getting LO pages done if you are behind in making pages.  They have an amazing DT that does some fantastic projects each week.  This week's challenge is "SCRAPLIFTING" from one of the design team members.  This is my favorite kind of challenge because I love to scrap lift  and I do this a lot.  I do ask first to make sure that the person that I'm scrap lifting doesn't mind. With the challenge you are to choose one of the DT members and scrap lift their idea for your page.
I decided to scrap lift from Kimberly if I'm reading the blog right.  Anyway I like this LO and decided to do scrap lift it.  Here is my LO.
This is my Great-niece Reagan. She will be 3 May 18th.  She decided that she didn't want to do what the photographer wanted her to do.
I used all scraps on this page.  The pattern paper if from different papers from DCWV and the solid is scraps from different papers from Recollections cardstock from. READY TO GO is from Kate's ABC's cartridge that I used in the ccr to weld the letters together.

Thanks for looking.

The second post this week is for the challenge Exploring cricut http://exploringcricut.blogspot.com
"WINTER WONDERLAND" and the FCCB    http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com     "Winter Fun"  This is what I came up with.
Here in Western Kentucky we don't get must snow. This was the first snow fall that we had gotten.  My youngest daughter put in her boots and went walking around the yard.  She loves the snow. The second picture is her son.  He is only 8 months old so this IS HIS first time in snow. On this page I did a pocket with the one photo and hid a journaling tag inside the pocket.

The base papers are from DCWV from The Four Seasons paper pack from 2010.  I thought this was perfect for my pages.  I used the Artbooking CTMH cricut cart for the title. walking in a winter wonder pg 77 from the Winter Time LO  and the second page title is from the School LO First Day pg 68.  I used the negative from the snow banner on page 76 for snow.  I used MS glitter to make the titles more visible.

Thanks for taking a look.  Check out Exploring Cricut for those of you that still use yours for this challenge.
Have a great Wednesday.

COUSINS

Good evening to my fellow bloggers.  I hope that everyone is staying warm with all the sub zero temps and major snow falls.  Here in Western Ky we only had some ice and some very cold temps.  But now we are on the move up for warmer temps.
Last Saturday I got to spend time with my great-grandson and grandson. My oldest and youngest daughter's also.  We went to lunch and shopping with the boys. It was a fun day.  The boys were good. We had gone to Ryan's Steakhouse for lunch.  I took this picture of the boys.

Over on the Lasting Memories http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com blog the challenge this week is a sketch that we are to use for this week's challenge.  I decided to use the picture that I had taken of the boys and to enter this into the challenge this week.
My base paper is from DCWV Kidlet paper stack. My cricut cuts are from Lyrica Letters.  I used my mini to weld cousins top to bottom to be able to pout in on my page.  Colton and Adrian are also from LL with the jumbo style cut.     I'm also going to enter this in the BBTB2  http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com challenge this week which is SCRAP YOUR HOBBY.  I love to make scrapbook pages and this is a page, so I think I can use this.

Thanks for looking.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

HAPPY NEW YEAR   I can't believe that it is 2014 already.  This past year went so fast.  This time last year my Husband and I were in Florida.

In April I lost my husband to cancer.

May 1st my grandson Colton was born.

Now here he is 8 months later

In June my great-grandson was born.

In August went to Memphis and toured Elvis Presley home. We also visited Sun Studios where Elvis did his first recording.

We stayed at Tupilo Miss and gambled for three days also That was fun.

Then for Thanksgiving I went to Joliet, Il and spent 4 days with my SIL.
Colton and I went for Christmas and spent 3 days with my sister and a week with my SIL.

And now its Jan4th 2014.

Enough of my rambling but thanks for  reading thru my year of 2013.

I saw this project on splitcoaststampers.com http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/res...  Its called a box shaped pop-up card.  This was so fun to make. Here is mine that I made.

The paper is from K and Company  The sentiment is a stamp that I had gotten at M's.  Happy Birthday is from SFTN. The bird is from Stretch Your Imagination.  This was easy to make.  I made this for my SIL whose birthday is January 15th.
Thanks for looking

Have a great weekend and please be safe.  I know most of us will be in the deepfreeze or in a snow blizzard.  Which ever please stay warm and be safe.
