May calender page

Hey everyone.  Hope you all are having a good week so far.  I have been working onl my calender pages.  I have all ententions of doing the pages simple.  But after I get started it doesn't seem simple any more.  If I could shut my brain off when doing the page, then it might stay simple.

I really like the way this page did come out.  Suzanne from cricutcraftingrammy I sent me some cuts from the Hello Kitty cart.  I decided to use this one for my May page.  I used the cut has the main focus on the page.  I have two mats for pictures.  I made some vellum flowers to accent the days the calender grid.  I used a punch that i had gotten from M's.  Don't remember the name of the punch.

I also used a stamp that I had gotten in the $ bin at M's. I stamped it and then fussy cut it out.  I like the way the pink pattern paper works with the whole look.  The paper is from DCWV.

The days of the week and the May are all cut from Designer's Calender cart.

Thanks for looking.

April Showers

Good morning.  Hope everyone survived Black Friday.  I didn't do any shopping at all.  I'm either giving gift cards or money, or making my gifts.  My DH and I aren't going to givie each other gifts, because I gift to each other is a vacation in Fl.   We are leaving Dec 26th or 27th and will be staying at a friends house in Okeechobee.  We are planning on staying a month if things work out.

This week over on the LASTING MEMORIES blog challenge, the challenge is "NAKED LO'S".
Now if your wondering what that means head on over to the blog site and see for yourself what that means.  Here is the link for the blog site.   http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com

I've been working on two 12x12 2013 calenders.  One will be going to my neice for her birthday. Each page has two picture mats that she will be able to take a picture of the month and just put the pictures on. I just finished with  the month of April. When I saw the challenge this week I thought all my calender pages are NAKED.  I finished this page last nite because I knew I had to get this done and shipped before her birthday which is DEC 22.  I still have to do the days and  numbers on the calender grids, but that is the easy part.

The pattern paper came from a fellow crafter. Terri sent me some paper and this was in it.  When I saw this paper I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.  Its perfect for my April page for the one calender.  I'm going to show one of two on the challenge and will have the other posted below with what I used on the other page.
The cricut cuts are from Teddy Bear Parade cartridge.  My fellow crafter Brenda  Friends Craftin' with Friends  purchased this cart for me because our Wal-mart didn't have it.  Thank you Brenda.
This cart has so many cute cuts on it. Kids  teens and even grownups ( kids at heart) like this cart.  You can use it for any and all occasions.  If you get a chance to get this cart you won't go wrong.
The raincoats on the bears is pattern paper from The Studio paper from HL.

Thanks for looking and have a great week.

Here is the page for the 2nd calender that I'm doing.

I finally recieved my DEC 25th cricut cartridge yesterday, so I was able to do my LO for the Lasting Memories http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com challenge this week.  The challenge is SO "STAMP"  those LO's.  We are to use stamps on our page.  I used the DEC 25th cartridge for the bells.  The pattern paper is from DCWV the Winter Holiday Stack.  This is one of their lasted stacks from M's.  I really like the patterns in the stack.
Thanks for looking

For the top bell I used glitter for the holly berries.  The stamp was from HL that I had gotten a couple of years ago.  I used red glitter on the ringer and some gems that I had gotten from Michaels.  I can't remember where the pattern paper for the mats came from.

Have a very Happy thanksgiving,  Be safe everyone.

New card

Tuesday I made a card for the BBTB2 challenge and the FCCB challenge that wasn't with a cricut cut.  I withdrew my card from FCCB, but wasn't able to delete from BBTB2, Here is my new card that I'm reentering.  Here are the links for the blogs.http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com
http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com  When you click on the card that is posted on BBTB2 it will take you to the new card post.

I used Elegant Edges for the  so thankful cut for the front and the inside.  The card stock that I used is from DCWV.  The pattern paper is also from DCWV.  Thanks for looking.

Sorry for the mix-up

Let me say that for the BBTB2 challenge and the FCCB challenge I'm so sorry.  I do know the rules of the challenges because I do them alot. I will go a remove my entries.

Let me explain what happened.  My DH is fighting stage 4 lung cancer since Dec 22 2011.  Last Friday he had to have a ct scan of his chest because of some problems that he was having.  When the Doctors office called me with the results, It wasn't a bad report, but things have changed a little from the previous scans.  I was making this card with all this on my mind and was going to use the George card for the rectanngle and the saying.  But not thinking  I just used my trimmer and cut them out.
So please for give me.
I'm thankful that I was able to do this card and the sentiment does say how I feel.

Every one have a  Very Happy Thanksgiving,

So Grateful

I really loved how this twisted easel card came out.  All the paper is from DCWV The Autumn Melody Stack.  I really enjoyed using this stack for all my fall projects.  I'm going to enter this card is the BBTB2 Grateful challenge this week. http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com    the stamp I used was from the $ bin from M's.  The inside stamp was from a fellow crafter.  I hope that everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends. Here is my Twisted Easel card.

I'm also entering this in the FCCB challenge also.  http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com

Thanksgiving Napkin rings.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  The weather was just beautiful here.  The whole week is going to be perfect.

I totaly scrap lifted this idea from Arin   http://apieceoflifespie.blogspot.com  Arin had made the Indian boy and girl from PDDU.  She had used some Burlap that she had left over from another project.  I didn't have have any Burlap, so I used the napkins that we will be using on Thanksgiving day.  I've been using cloth napkins now for a few years.  We use the napkin the whole day and then I just throw it in my washer at the end of the day. I probably have over 30 napkins LOL

I used the PDDU cart for the pilgrim guy and lady.  Also the Indian boy and girl.  All were cut at 4"  I used my Peachy Keen stamps for the faces.  I'm going to have to get better about putting faces on.  I used some Ribbon the I had gotten from Wal-mart to tie around the gold napkings.  After putting the dolls together, I just took my ATG and glued them to the Ribbon.  When we go to eat they can untie the ribbon, used the napkin and will be able to take home there doll.

Thanks Arin for the inspiration.
I'm entering this project in the Thanksgiving challenge over on My Craft Spot blog challenge.   http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com

thanks for taking a look Have a great week.  I forgot to say that the one Turkey is also from the PDDU cart also.

  Happy Thanksgiving

GOBBLE GOBBLE

The challenge this week for BBTB2 is to make a project with a Turkey

I decided to do a LO so I will the page ready for my pic on Thanksgiving day.  My sister-n-law is coming down from Illinois and we will be cooking for 2 days.  Larry is really looking forward to this, because every time he talks to her, he says that I'm starving him and He hasn't eaten since the last time she was here.  This has been the standing joke with her and my DH for the past few years.

The base paper that I used is from DCWV Autumn Splendor. Did I mention that I love this Stack?  The Turkey was cut from CAC.  The picture mat is for a 4x6 picture and the pattern paper is from DCWV Halloween and Fall paper stack. Happy Thanksgiving was cut from MS Seasonal Cake Art @ 2"  Thanks for looking and have a great night.

Remeber/Veterans

Hi, hope everyone had a great day.  I finally  got most of  my projects done or at least I have everything cut out and ready to go.  I have most of my calender pages done. Now i have to do the numbers and days of the week.

I'm trying to work on the challenges that I like to do.  This week on Lasting Memories LO Challenge http://kcclayoutchallenges.blogspot.com  the challenge was REMEBERANCE  DAY/ VETERENS DAY.
I have been working on this LO for about a year.  With the challenge I was able to pick it up again and finish it.  This is my Husband's brother. He was only a couple of years olders. The first page is all the memorials for the first 10 years after he was killed in Veitnam. The second page was a memorial that we had put in the paper. I had to read thru many letters and keepsakes that my mother-n-law had kept.  After she passed  in 2007 Larry and I went thru letters and books and envelopes with everything that she had kept over the years. Here is the finished LO.

I used George Basics for the holders of all the memorials that were in the paper for each year.
Thanks for taking a look.   He couragesly fought and died for our country so we could have the freedom that we enjoy.

Christmas Ornament.

Good evening  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Ours was absolutley beautiful.  Our temps were in the low 70's and sunny.  Now we are having rain and very windy.  Waiting for the cold front to arrive and temps bottoming out. Oh Well it is Nov already.

The ornaments that I did is on the front of the SU holiday catalog.  Brenda  Friends Crafting With Friends had made this ornament with a tutorial.  Check out her blog to see how this was done.  There is also a link for a video that  chicnscratch had done. Here is her blog if you would like to see how these were done.   http://www.mychicnscratch.com

My favorite one is the white one.  I used my cuddlebug embossing folder, Swiss Dots to emboss  the ornaments.  I also used yellow stickle on the dots to give it some sparkle. You can't really see it in the picture.  I used white tulle and white embrodery floss for the string to hang my ornament.  This would make a pretty bow for a wedding gift. Thanks for taking a look.

Hope everyone has a great week.

The middle is a button that I had in my stash.

Below are the 3 ornaments that I have made so far.

On the white one I omitted the rosette in the middle. I thought it looked just as good with out it. I think my tulle is still to long so I will be cutting that down some more.

Auntumn Spendor

This week's challenge for FCCB http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com  is to make a project with Leaves.  I had taken this picture of this beautiful tree that the leaves had turned burnt orange in between the trees that the leaves had not turned.  I had gotten the pattern paper from a fellow crafter. I thought this would be perfect for the picture and the challenge.  The title is from the Autunm Melody Stack from DCWV.  The leaves that  frame the picture were sized in the cricut craft room and cut from the Design Calender cart.

  • Remember  all the ppl on the east coast that are getting hit yet again with a storm. Only this time it is snow.  Please be safe from the cold.

Christmas Ornament

Hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to get some crafting in.  Brenda over on Friends carfting with friends had done this ornament that origanlly was on the StampinUp Holiday catalog.  Also chicnscratch had a video on how to put this ornament together.  I read Brenda's instructions and watched  Angie's video.  I didn't have the stamps so I used my cricut to cut out the ornaments that I used for my Ornament.

I used Winter Frolic and Christmas Noel  The ornament from Winter frolic was cut @ 2.5"  I cut out 20.  Christmas Noel  ornament was cut@ 1.75" I also cut a total of 20 with this cart.  I used the first ornament on blackout feature key.  My papers that I used were from recollections I used red tulle.  I used the Rosette and Ribbon cart for the rosette in the middle.  The bling for in the middle is actually a Button that I had in my stash.  Its not perfect, but I'm proud of the way it came out.   Thanks for taking a look.
